MARINE CLAIMS HANDLER

Swan Insurance Co. Ltd. is seeking to appoint a talented individual for the key role of

MARINE CLAIMS HANDLER

Candidate's Profile

  • Holder of Higher School Certificate (HSC) or equivalent
  • Certificate or Diploma in Insurance
  • Have a specific and sound knowledge of marine insurance
  • Have good communication skills (both written and spoken)
  • Be able to handle pressure to deliver against tight deadlines
  • Be a team player
  • Conversant with MS Office Tools
  • At least 3 years’ working experience in marine claims handling

Main duties and responsibilities

  • Check the validity of marine claims received
  • Initiate and monitor the claims processes and procedures from inception to final settlement
  • Appoint loss adjusters and liaise with agents, brokers, insurers and related third parties 
  • Undertake assessment and adjustment of claims
  • Discuss and negotiate settlement of claims with clients, brokers, agents and surveyors
  • Undertake recovery actions from other insurance companies or third parties
